Mbono.net uses Twitter's new OAuth protocol to connect and send your status updates to Twitter. This means that you do not need to share your Twitter password with us - it is handled by Twitter and makes password management secure, in much the same way that PayPal makes online payments safe.
You do need to have cookies turned on, so that we can store the encrypted authentication information in your browser for your benefit as you move from page to page on our site. If you are using someone else's computer, be sure to Sign Out when you are done.
Our Twitter account is mbononet and we encourage you to follow us on Twitter so that we can in the future further customize the updates we display - for example allowing you to view only updates from mbononet followers. You will automatically be set to follow us when you send an update, and we will in turn follow you, building a stronger Mbono community on Twitter. Don't worry, we won't be sending a lot of updates through mbononet, they will appear here on these pages, and you can decide for yourself who interests you and who you would like to follow directly.
Please note an interesting feature: due to a current bug in Twitter, postings cannot be deleted and will always show up on Twitter searches, and so also here. Deleting an update from your personal Twitter timeline removes it from view there, but it's still out there in the universe! Though Twitter may be fixing this in the future, consider it yet another reason to choose your words carefully, and with intent, whether using Mbono.net or any other Twitter client.
Please use the contact form to let us know of any bugs or new features that you would like to see.
Thank you.
